We listened to your feedback! After a few requests, we’ve starting making a set of more camouflage pace beads, the same design as our other models but with new anti-reflective matte black beads — now also available in desert tan.
VITAL NAVIGATION LIFELINE: Pace counting is an essential skill for hikers and military personal. It’s a reliable and simple method used to monitor distances, maintain orientation, manage energy levels, and ensure on-time arrival at checkpoints.
DEPENDABLE NON-ELECTRONIC NAVIGATION: Pace beads stand strong when GPS systems fail; they are not subject to signal issues, water damage, or battery failure. Paired with a compass, pace beads offer a steadfast and reliable navigational solution.
STAY ON TRACK: Even on well-marked trails, it’s easy to overlook checkpoints and stray from the trail. Whether you're pausing for a photo, setting up camp, or taking a detour, pace beads simplify retracing your path to the trail.
INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS: The pace beads come with a detailed set of instructions, and video that covers all aspects of their usage including determining your pace count in various terrains, using with a compass, and fire-starting using the 550 'Survival Cord’.
MASTERING THE PACE BEADS: After your pace count has been reached, simply slide down one bead, each bead represents 100 metres. After moving all 10 beads, slide down one of the four remaining beads, indicating you've covered 1 kilometre. Once all four beads have been you'll have traversed a total of 4 kilometres. You can set the beads to represent any distance.
VERSATILE CORDAGE: Our pace beads use 550 'Survival Cord’ that includes paraffin-wax-infused strands. The cord is easily ignited with a Ferro Rod, burns extremely slow, and withstands wind and rain. 550 Paracord serves a multitude of uses in the field including shelter building, shoelace repairs, and fishing to name a few.
EXTRA COMPONENTS: The carabiner ensures easy attachment of the beads and allows for quick access on the trails. Plus, a 100-decibel mechanical-free whistle is also included for signalling.
USING WITH A COMPASS: As well as tracing distance, pairing pace beads with a compass enables you to pinpoint your location consistently, even in darkness. No landmarks, GPS, or trail signs are required!
