The TrailGrip l Adjustable Pot & Cup Hangers

At Forest Fundamentals, we’ve spent years using basic steel cables to hang pots and cups over the fire. We thought it was time for a proper upgrade, so we developed the TrailGrip!

Cooking in the field can be challenging, but the TrailGrip simplifies the process. No more balancing pots on the fire or using sticks to re-position them. Easily hang pots, cups, and bottles over open fires. Once finished, just grab the top of the cable and lift it away from the fire.

Faster Boil Times: With the TrailGrip, position your pot directly over the fire’s core for maximum heat. This maximizes the efficiency of smaller fires, making it quick and easy to boil cups of water on the go.

Simmering Options: The TrailGrip allows you to position a 750ml cup 20cm lower or higher, enabling quick adjustments for gently simmering or rapidly boiling water. Note: if using a pot with a larger radius, the adjustable range of the cable will be reduced.

The TrailGrip works with a range of pot hanger constructions including A-Frame Pot Hangers, Tripods, and Forked Stick and Crossbars. We find the A-Frame to be particularly effective - it’s quick to construct, needs limited materials, and the height is easily adjusted.

Super light-weight: The TrailGrip weighs next to nothing, and packs extremely small. We keep ours inside the bottom of our cups. It’s a great alternative to heavy tripods, or griddles.

Suitable for Various Pot Sizes: The TrailGrip fits pots and cups with diameters from 5cm to 20cm, making it perfect for cooking full meals or boiling a cup of water.

Durable Materials: The TrailGrip is made from 7x7 twisted stainless steel cable, designed to endure the repeated weight of water-filled pots without breaking. This stainless steel is highly resistant to rust, corrosion, and heat.
