This cotton refill pack is designed specifically for the Forest Fundamentals Oil Insert.
Due to its precise thread count and width, we cannot guarantee compatibility with other oil lanterns, as these factors will significantly affect flame size and fuel absorption.
The refill pack includes 250cm of high-density, 100% cotton wick—enough for up to 2,500 hours of burn time with a standard 2cm flame.
When using the Forest Fundamentals Oil Insert, we recommend only using our official refill packs. During development, we tested numerous wick types before finalising the ideal thickness and thread count. We found that the density and thread count of the wick have a significant effect on your ability to control the flame size.
The wick comes in a 250cm roll and will need to be cut to size before use. We recommend cutting lengths of 10–15cm—adding a few extra centimetres to ensure the wick reaches the bottom of the oil insert chamber, allowing all the fuel to be fully used.
When cutting the wick to size, try to avoid fraying, as this can make it more difficult to insert into the oil insert’s metal screw top. If you're having trouble, lightly singeing the end of the wick can make replacement much easier.
