Nothing fancy—just a solid, purpose-built storage pouch. Designed to fit neatly inside the stove’s base compartment, to keep your gear contained and ash-free. They also make great small kit organisers and are just the right size to slip into side pouches or the top lid of your pack.
There’s no right or wrong way to pack, but we like to keep all our fire essentials in the stove’s base compartment. These pouches are roomy enough for a mid-sized ferro rod (like our 3” Hives), backup tinder, matches, solid fuel tabs, and an FF alcohol burner tin—keeping everything compact, protected, and ready to go.
Made from rugged 1000D Condura, these pouches are highly abrasion-resistant. Reinforced stitching and tough zippers keep them secure and reliable in the long run.
No internal dividers or pockets—just open, usable space. In a pouch this size, extra compartments only get in the way, making packing and removing gear trickier, especially with gloves or in the cold.
The pouches also open fully for easy access, letting you grab what you need and drop it back in without having to re-open the pouch. We found this useful for tasks such as fire-lighting, or sewing that require multiple tools—sometimes more than once.
We have also added a slim slide-in pocket on the outside, which provides quick access to small items that don’t quite fit inside the main pouch.
To maximise space inside your pack, and to keep gear organised, these pouches are easily stacked on top of one another and stored in the side pouches of bags. For example, multiple pouches, all with different purposes including first-aid, water, fire, sewing (or random), can be stacked with the most frequently used ones’ at the top for easy access.
These pouches are designed to stack easily, fitting into the side pockets of bags to keep gear organised and easily accessible. Each pouch can be organised by purpose—first aid, fire, water, sewing, to name a few—with the most-used kits on top of the stack for quick access.
What to pack inside the pouches?
These pouches are sized for compact kits—ideal for fire, water, medical, sewing, fishing, or cleaning kits, to name a few examples.
In our own fire kits, we include a few Forest Fundamentals items including the 3" Hive Fire Starter, a 25" wick from the Stealth Tinder Refill Pack, and an FF burner tin. The tins are designed to hold additional items inside, helping to save space.
