After two years of development, we're pleased to announce the launch of our new Titanium Nesting Stoves.
Alongside the stove, we've also designed a range of compatible components — including bottles, cups, and alcohol burners — all designed to integrate with the nesting system.
When purchased alongside the stove, these accessories are available with 15% off.
Over the past year, we've been busy developing new bags and pouches — most notably our roll-top Mess Tin Bags and Silky Saw Bags.
All of our bags are designed and built to fulfil a specific purpose, and to do that job exceptionally well, without any unnecessary bulk.
Built to last, all of our bags are made from 1000D nylon — the same material used in many military-grade products.
At Forest Fundamentals, we are longtime UCO lantern users, we've made a few DIY Oil Inserts from old aerosol cans over the years. Eventually, we decided to design our own — introducing the Forest Fundamental Oil Inserts!
The Oil Inserts are CNC-machined from 6061 aluminium and designed for full compatibility with the UCO Original Lanterns. They function just like candles—but use lamp oil instead!
Forest Fundamentals was founded by Elvis, who began by selling his handmade products on Etsy. While it's grown since then, we remain true to our roots—still hand-making a few of our best-sellers in collaboration with outside makers.
We take pride in our craftsmanship. Most products feature overlock stitching for durability and are built using high-quality materials such as waxed canvas, solid brass hardware, recycled plastic toggles, and 550 paracord.
The first of its kind, the Stealth was designed to be an all-inclusive, compact, and lightweight fire starter that simplifies fire lighting in all weather conditions.
Our goal was to make fire lighting in the field as dependable and efficient as possible — something you can rely on when you need it most. All Stealths now come with 63.5 cm (25") of wick as standard.
In the development stages, we quickly realised that even the slightest change in the ratio of elements has a profound effect on the ferro rod's performance. Some blends were extremely soft, producing more sparks but shortening the lifespan of the rod.
Others were extremely hard, producing fewer sparks but offering much greater durability. We believe we have found the perfect blend of elements and the optimum balance between softness and durability.
Forest Fundamentals was founded out a passion for bushcraft and the outdoors. The company's founder, Elvis, spent much of his teenage years in the woods — building shelters, lighting fires, and hand-making tools. What began as time spent learning and practising outdoor skills eventually led to the idea of starting a small Etsy shop, where he began selling his handmade creations.
While our manufacturing has come a long way from wooden spoons and drawstring bags, every product is still designed in-house by Elvis, alongside Joe — one of our product designers and a part-time bushcraft instructor.
Much of our design success can also be attributed to our collaboration with like-minded outdoor enthusiasts from around the world, helping ensure our products are thoroughly tested in all environments. Click here for more info on our design partners.
Much of our design is centred around Mors Kochanski's belief that "the less you know, the more you carry." Bushcraft is about learning to meet your basic needs outdoors — not filling your pack with unnecessary kit.
Our design follows the same mindset. Each product is created for a clear, defined purpose and built to do that job exceptionally well, without unnecessary bulk or gimmicks.
We also recognise that survival isn't the only reason for heading into the woods. Many of us are chasing the sense of freedom and calm the outdoors provides. That's why we design our products not only to keep you alive, but to help simplify and enhance your time outdoors.
We also believe that inspiration, design, and testing can't be separated from the environment the product is intended for. Every item is rigorously tested in the field to ensure it performs under the unforgiving pressure of repeated outdoor use.
"The rugged beauty of the Peak District is the perfect testing ground for our products. On our hikes, we move through a dynamic and varied landscape — ancient forests, rocky mountain peaks, wind-swept moorland, bogs, and lowland meadows. We test our products in all climates and terrains to ensure they thrive in the toughest expeditions and are deserving of a place in even the most extreme outdoor person's pack."
